SKY-Connect - The Connectivity Suite Of SKY-Base AODB
One of the vital quality requirements for an Airport Operational DataBase (AODB) concerns its abilities of exchanging information with other software systems in and around the airport. Internal departments as well as partner companies, humans as well as devices depend on reliable real-time information to perform their tasks in the integrated airport business process chain.
SKY-Connect
The integration suite of the SKY-Base AODB, guarantees the real-time distribution and reception of all relevant information to and from external systems. It covers multiple communication protocols and data formats and allows the rapid integration of new interfaces and processing rules.

- The SKY-Connect-SITA-Server offers sending, receiving and processing of standardized IATA message formats via SITATEX. Supported message types are MVT, LDM, PTM as well as FFM, FSU, SAM/SRM and many others.
- Various Flight Information Display Systems (FIDS) may interface with SKY-Base. The online communication facilities of SKY-Connect guarantee up-to-date information for passengers and airport staff.
- Unlike other industries the airport business has not yet established standards for commercial data communication. This affected B2B relations between airports and their business partners by high costs and poor information quality.
XML4aero, an XML-based format for the description of aviation data, puts an end to this language confusion.XML4aero mainly supports electronic billing and has set a new standard for the electronic exchange of business data between airports and airlines. - The interface for the transfer of invoice data from the billing system to the ERP system is the major link between the airport’s operational and commercial areas. Many different ERP software systems are supported, among them the world-wide market leader SAP®.
