Through this, a tour guide can provide a range of services for travelers – everything from orientation, to historical information, to back office interaction to book reservations, check flights, arrivals and accommodation.

Mobile Travel Environment

Twinned with the professional workspace is the Mobile Travel Environment (MTE), which is designed for travelers. In the MTE, travelers can download guides and inform them self about destinations, excursion and more before, during and after their trips. Travelers can design itineraries with bookmarks and use location based guidance (with GPS supported smartphones) while they are visiting destinations. Travelers can access reviews, share content and rate attractions and services on the spot.

In the meantime, service providers at the tourist destination, such as restaurants, event organizers and tourist attractions, could use the platform as a marketing channel to offer services and provide information to travelers in an attractive and accessible manner.
