Faber-Castell AG optimizes reporting processes with newest BI technology
08.01.09 - MySAP Business Intelligence Version 7.0 and SAP NetWeaver 2004s are building the platform for financial reporting at Faber-Castell AG.
Worldwide data of approximately 20 regional entities for example, out of controlling, financial accounting, sales, distribution and logistics are consolidated and combined in one central portal. The Connection of various non-SAP applications is done by web services. For mapping of varying planning scenarios, Faber-Castell AG applies the new MySAP BI-component "Integrated Planning".
The strive of the company is to accelerate the process of company-wide management reporting and to increase data transparency, says Michael Boy, CFO of Faber-Castell AG.
In a two-tired project, at first the topics management reporting and management consolidation where implemented. In April of 2007 the legal consolidation was carried out.
In the future all reporting requirements of company subsidiaries will be realized with MySAP BI.
Also it is essential, to reduce the complexity of information acquisition. In the future product and customer financial statements as well as logistic data will be mapped with this solution.
The new BI solution integrated into the enterprise portal permits personnel autonomously quicker access of needed data. The Information is obtained in a structured form and tailored to their respective requirements.
Faber-Castell Consulting advised and supervised implementation. The consulting company already successfully introduced SAP R/3 at Faber-Castell in 1996 and took over hosting service of systems. The implementation of the BI solution is part of the IT strategy to create a standardized system environment based on SAP solutions. The BI solution, alongside other SAP custom systems is also operated at Faber-Castell Consulting at the data processing center in Stein.
